Ring ring!!!!

It's Friday evening about 15 minutes 'til closing at my barber shop. I am about to start the closing process (turn off the open neon sign, the barber pole, cleaning, etc) when in walks the strangest thing I have ever seen. A gentleman with a digital camera in his left hand (OK that's not strange) and his right arm is wrapped around what I can describe as about a 5 foot 3 inch mop of thick straight blond hair with heels. It was literally a guy escorting in Cousin It to my barbershop. "What Can I do for you folks?" I asked looking in disbelief. The Guy handed me the digital camera and asked me to film him and Cousin It entering into my shop. 

I wanted to close the shop but my instincts told me that this had the potential to be a unique experience, so I complied. The guy and cousin It left and reentered. I introduced my self as Dave and the guy introduced himself as Sam and the walking hair as Marianne, who turned out to be his wife.

"One haircut for my wife please," Sam said.

"OK," I replied. 

Now, don't get me wrong, almost a third of my clients are female (Including my wife). Some typically come in to get their long hairstyles, or bobs trimmed or their short crops maintained as my place is cheaper than a beauty salon and I enjoy them very much. They are more sociable, tip generously, and are a change of pace. However, I have never taken off more than 5 or 6 inches off of a client ever. This was going to be interesting. 

"My wife and I have agreed to make this haircutting experience a unique one," he explained "You will be cutting out my wife underneath that hair in increments as I tell you to, and let the hair fall on the floor we are not donating it" 

"OK, then," I said "Marianne, can you have a seat?" 

Marianne sat down, as per her husband's instructions, it looked like nothing but hair with gorgeous legs sticking out was on my chair. I then put the neck strip and caped the lady. I sprayed and combed the hair. I pumped up the chair so that the hair was not on the floor. I then sprayed down and combed the hair, not an easy task considering it's thickness and tangles. First Sam pointed to the seat of the chair where he intially wanted me to cut up to. I snipped away, soon I was finished an a carpet of blond hair covered the floor. 

"Cut up to here" Sam said,  pointing to the arm rests. I snipped away, more blond hair started falling around as I cut in an even manner. Soon that was done.

"Take it up to her shoulders," Sam said. "Are you sure?" I asked "Its already pretty drastic". "Yes" They replied in unison. 

Once that was done Sam asked me to take it up to the top of her neck.After that was done I parted her hair down the middle and from the curtains I saw a very beautiful face with a smile. She started shaking her head back and forth. 

"Is this it?" I asked 

"Well, not quite, what do you think about a short crop like old Halle Berry or Emma Watson?" Sam asked

"OK" I said. From here on out I was back in somewhat familiar territory. I relaxed and did the standard scissors as the hair fell down her lap and THEN onto the floor. I aso did some clipper work. She seemed to enjoy it very much. I shaped away the neckline and the others. When it was done, She looked quite nice amidst a pile of fallen hair on the floor. I dusted her off, and took off her cape, she was quite slender with skinny jeans and a nice tube top. That was what was hiding underneath all that hair. I then swept up the hair and put it into a manilla envelope to give to Sam. 

Sam gave me a $100 bill and told me to keep the change (I charge $15 for a haircut). I tried to dissuade him but he was having none of it. After I got paid. I cleaned up and went home. My wife initially refused to believe me, but a few days later, I saw it on Youtube and then got the video on CD via mail. It has changed the shop as more customers have come in and I also cut Sam and Marianne's hair from time to time (she has opted for longer styles since but sometimes lets me trim her hair). I have had some other unique stories but none like this ever.
