My name is Jen, and I'm 29 years old. I have dark brown hair that reaches the small of my back, and bright green eyes. I work as a paralegal for a law firm in New York, and am currently single.
I was at a bar for lunch one way and a stunning woman with a scarf around her head walked in and sat across the bar from me. She proceeded to take off the scarf to reveal a clean shaven head. I could not take my eyes off of her as I ate my lunch. I was so fascinated. Although the look was indeed becoming on her, what would posses such a beautiful woman to shave off all of her hair? I was completely bewildered! I was paying my bill, and looked across for one last glance at this woman, and was disappointed to see she had gone. I felt a hand on my shoulder as I was getting off of the bar stool. I turned around and came face to face with the bald woman. "I couldn't help noticing you staring at me for the last half hour." She said. I felt my face turn beet red, and I said, "I don't know what you are talking about." She smiled and said, "It's ok, don't be embarrassed. I felt the same way once too. You're obviously intrigued by my baldness." "Well, um, it's just not something you see every day." I stammered. "Yes, that's true. Bald women are not common. But you'll soon discover why I, like many others, choose to keep a clean shaven head." She said. I looked confused, so she said, "From the look in your eyes, I can see you've caught the baldness bug, and the only cure is for you to become one of us." Then she handed me a business card and said, "when you are ready to be free of the burden you surely feel, give me a call. Until then, you'll suffer the constant thoughts of curiosity, wondering what you are missing out on." Then she smiled and left. I looked at the card, which read: Cool Head, Cool Mind, Cool Women. 7428363. 936 Muller Street (the silver door) I put the card in my purse and quickly went back to work.
I couldn't stop thinking about the bald woman all afternoon. I was curious to see what this "cool" place was all about, so I called the number on the card as I was packing my desk for the day. I sat nervously as the phone rang a few times. A familiar voice was soon on the other end of the line saying, "Thanks for calling Cool, this is Leah, how can I help you?" I took a deep breath and said, "Yes, my name is Jen. I met someone at lunch today and she gave me your card. I was just wondering what your place is all about." "Oh sure, I remember you. I'm the one who gave you the card." Leah said. Then she added, "So you'd like to come see us then?" "Well, um, yes. I'd just like to check stuff out." I said. "We aren't too busy tonight, would you like to stop in?" Leah asked. I thought about it for a moment. Maybe I should think about this for a few days. But then again, I'm just going to see the place, I don't have an appointment. So I said, "Ok, that works for me. I'm leaving my office shortly, so I'll be there in 10 or 15 minutes." "Wonderful! I'll see you then." Leah said. Then hung up.
I drove to the address on the card and parked in front of the silver door. I got out of my car and walked up to the door. I took a deep breath and opened it up to a long flight of stairs. I climbed to the top and stood in front of a large glass door. Inside I saw what appeared to be a waiting area. It was mostly a white room with a few plush white sofas, glass tables, and stylish silver and black decor. It had very mellow, dim lighting, and several candles lit. At the desk I saw Leah and she smiled and beckoned me to come in. I slowly opened the door and walked in. The soothing aromatherapy candles and incense, and soft jazz music immediately made me feel relaxed. "Welcome Jen!" Leah said as she came over to greet me. "Let me take your coat." She offered, then took it from me and hung it up. "Have a seat on the couch and we'll get started." She said. We sat down on one of the couches and my body sunk into the soft over stuffed cushions on the couch. "Before we get started, do you have any questions?" She asked me. "Well what exactly do you do here?" I asked. "Well we are sort of a salon for bald women. We do all types of hair removal, but the focus is on head shaving and bald head maintenance. We offer a variety of hair removal services, including waxing, depilatories, laser treatment, and specialty shaves. We also have massages, oil services, exfoliation, tanning, polishing, and many other treatments for the care of bald heads, and bare skin in general. We are also like a spa in the sense that our facility has whirlpools, multi-jet rain showers, a sauna and tanning beds. We also have a full like of skin and scalp care products for our clients, to keep themselves in tip-top shape." Leah told me. "Wow, I've never heard of a place like this." I said. "Well, we're kind of a well kept secret. A place for women who embrace the bald lifestyle to keep themselves looking their absolute best." She said. I nodded and said, "Oh, I see." "Why don't we take a tour of the salon now?" She said. I said, "Ok, that sounds good." We stood up and walked through a door out of the waiting room. Leah showed me several rooms, explaining what each was for. The sights and sounds and smells in the salon had me in a deep daze by the time Leah was done giving me the tour. We reached the final room and Leah stood in front of the door for a moment. "What's in here?" I asked. Leah smiled and replied, "We're at the end of our tour. It's now time for your transformation to begin." "Oh, but I just wanted to see what this place was about, I haven't decided whether or not I want to go bald." I said. "Jen, you want your head shaved. You know this. Don't be afraid." Leah said. I froze, but she took my hand, then opened the door and lead me inside. In this final room the lights were dim, the candles and incense were even stronger smelling, and the soft music played. It was a bit warmer than the hallway also. There was what appeared to be a station from a barber shop. A big leather barber's chair, shelves with thick white towels, scissors and clippers, a large porcelain sink basin, and a full length mirror, among other things. I looked around in awe as Leah closed the door behind us. "You'll be much more comfortable if you remove your clothes." She said. I slowly took them off and hung them up on a hanger, while Leah pulled a curtain over the mirror. "Let's get going, shall we?" Leah said, motioning for me to sit down. I slowly walked over to the big barber's chair and climbed in. My body sunk into it's soft leather. Leah clipped my hair on top of my head, then wrapped a tissue around my neck snugly and put a large cape over me and tied it very tightly over the tissue. The cape was large and heavy; I could barely move underneath, and my toes were all that stuck out at the bottom. It felt like one of those things that you wear at the dentist's for x-rays. "Wonderful, now we're all ready to begin." Leah said, picking up a pair of scissors. "Wait, Leah, I really don't think I want to do this." I said. She put her hand on my shoulder and said, "Jen, do not worry any more. I will not start until you tell me to, but don't let ration stop you from going bald, for the beauty of being hairless can only be understood once one experiences it. I know you want your head shaved, you just have to be strong enough to give it a chance." "I, I just don't know." I stuttered nervously. "Letting go is the hardest part, Jen, but your worries will drift away as you give in to the clippers and razor, ridding your head of hair." Leah said. "But what if I don't like the way I look? It'll take years to grow my hair back out long." I whined. She said, "It will take a little bit of time for you to get used to it, but the chance of you ever having hair again is slim to none. Once your hair is gone, you'll fall in love with having a soft smooth shaved head. You'll love how beautiful you look and feel bald, and will forget about long hair completely." I paused for a few minutes, then finally nodded, and quietly said, "I'm really nervous." Leah rubbed my shoulders and said, "It's normal to be nervous, but the sooner I start, the easier it'll be. Just relax and soon your hair will be gone and you'll have a nice, cool, clean shaven head." She unclipped my hair from the top of my head, and said, "are you ready to begin?" I took a deep breath and said, "Yes."
/>Leah brushed my hair out and said, "First I'm going to cut your hair short with scissors, so it will be easier to clipper." "Alright." I said, with butterflies in my stomach. Soon I heard snipping and felt tugging on my head, as Leah started to cut. Long chunks of my dark brown hair fall all around me. Some of it slid into the lap of my cape, but most of it tumbled to the floor. My head kept getting lighter and lighter, and my neck felt cool as it became exposed. Leah worked quickly, snipping the hair short over my entire head. Soon she put the scissors down. I could not see what she was doing behind me, but a second later I felt her hand on my head, pushing it down so my chin touched my chest. "I'm now going to clipper your hair, Jen. I'm using my big Oster clippers with an eighth inch guard to get rid of the length, then I'll take the guard off and go over everything again. The Osters have a great 00000 cutting head, which should trim your hair nice and close to the scalp." I heard a loud POP hummmm, and soon felt vibrations on my neck. The humming turned to buzzing as the vibrating moved upwards, clippering my hair. Tufts of my dark brown hair tumbled into my lap and onto the floor as Leah ran the clippers over my whole head. It felt great indeed. I sat contently as Leah clippered all of my hair to an eighth of an inch. First she did the back, then the left side, buzzing around my ear, and up to the top, the the right side, the same, then the top, working from my forehead back. I felt funny inside from the strange strange sensations these vibrating clippers gave me as they sheared off my hair. But I liked it. The clippering stopped for a few moments, but soon began again, and Leah started to clipper me a second time, with no guard. I felt my head get colder as air touched each new swath of stubbly skin. More and more hair disappeared from my head, and I watched the pile on the floor grow. The buzzing was over all too soon, and Leah started to dust my head off with a small brush. She removed the cape and shook it out. Hair flew everywhere. "Is it over?" I asked. Leah laughed and said, "Oh no, I'm just hanging this up. I've still got the final shave to do. But just relax, soon you'll have a smooth bare head." I smiled a little. She draped a thick towel over my shoulders, then took a hot wet towel and wrapped it around my head. She told me, "The hot towel is loosening up your hair so it will be easier to shave." A few minutes later, she removed the towel and started to spread hot shaving cream over my whole head. She washed and dried her hands, then said, "I'm just sharpening a straight razor, then I'll shave you." A minute later, she said, "Now then, it's time to make you a baldie! Let's get you shaved nice and clean." I soon felt the razor on my nape, shaving upwards. The scraping feeling was driving me crazy. It felt so oddly good. She shaved the back of my head, then the sides, then the top. She took long, slow strokes, removing the shaving cream and stubble from my head and leaving virgin skin behind. I could feel my skin turn red where it had been freshly shaven, for it had never been exposed before. It felt like all of the shaving cream was gone. Leah wiped my head off and put another coat of hot shaving cream on. "Your hair is really thick and dark, so I'm going to shave you again to try to get rid of that shadow. I might need to give you a depilatory treatment though." Leah said as she started shaving me for the second time. I was glad I got a second shave. The first one ended too soon. I sat in a daze as I received my second shave, disappointed when it was finished. Leah wiped off my head and patted it dry with a clean towel, then said, "Hmmm, I was worried this would be the case, but even though your head is shaven smooth as a baby's bottom, there's still a dark shadow showing. Not a problem though." She opened a cupboard and took something out, then began spreading something bad smelling on my head. "Now this might sting a little, but it'll get rid of that ugly dark shadow, and also will prevent your hair from growing back so soon." It did sting a bit, but I sat patiently while the chemicals dissolved the hair follicles. Several minutes later Leah had me walk over to the sink basin so that she could wash off the chemicals. It felt so weird to have water rushing over my bare head. It sent shivers throughout my body. Leah rinsed off the lotion, then used some sweet smelling moisturizing shampoo to clean my head. It felt great as she massaged my newly shaven scalp while the hot water rushed over it. When she finished, she patted my head dry, then started spreading another hot substance over my head. "This is hot sealing wax that I'm using now. It will soak into your pores and help prevent re-growth longer. It needs to sit for a few minutes, then I'll remove the excess from your head before the final polish." Leah said. When she removed the wax, she said, "The depilatory lotion and sealing wax treatments should keep your hair from visibly growing for about a week, so you won't need waste time coming in for a shave so often. But you'll need to come back in a week for another shave and chemical treatments to keep your head looking nice and smooth." "Ok." I said. When the wax was all gone, Leah started massaging my head with some sweet smelling oil. Soon she removed the towel from my shoulders and said, "Alright, you're all done Jen. No more hair for you! You've got a nice clean shaven head!" She opened the curtains on the mirror and I looked at my new self for the first time. I could not believe that the girl staring back at me was really me! I was really bald!
